Gradient Revolution Speakers

A very neutral sounding pair of speakers that are very easy to set up. Dipole design, and ability to turn bass module towards listener or towards side walls make these speakers very versatile, and make room changes less dangerous. They have very good bass extension, and the mid's and high's are clear and crisp, with no sign of any boxiness. Sound-staging and imaging are very good. I decided on the Gradient's for their overall neutrality, since most of my system tends towards the warm side of neutral.

Other speakers auditioned were Alón Circe, Alón Lotus and B&W Nautilus 805B. The B&W's sound better with solid-state equipment, and hence was not really under serious consideration. The Alón's on the other hand work very well with tube amplifier's and are a treat for the ears. They are very sweet and musical sounding speakers. The Circe's had very good bass extension, and great mid's and high's. I decided against the Alón's because I did not want a too-sweet sound overall.
